HOW TO FIX BLOCKED CHROME PLUGINS

Chrome has stopped support for NPAPI plugins. While this does not include Adobe Flash, it may cause some issues. This can cause some issues when viewing smilies in blog posts as well as viewing embeds on xatspaces.
Here is how to re-enable Flash for Chrome
First of all, I would like to showcase the different between the beginning end and result after this tutorial, this will help if you experience similar issues.

At this point in time, you are required to click on all ‘play’ buttons to see the animation and you must do that for youtube players and other embeds. After this tutorial, the play buttons will be removed and embeds will show up in their original form.

Let’s begin the tutorial,
  • In the address bar at the top of Chrome, type in chrome://plugins and press Enter.

  • At the far-right of the page, click on Details to expand the Plugin windows.

  • Click Enable in the greyed out area under Adobe Flash Player, if already enabled, you can skip this step.

  • Finally, tick the box that says “Always allowed to run.”

This should fix this issue, but it is always best to make sure of a few things. Check Chrome weekly and look to see if there are updates available. Also do this for Adobe Flash as Adobe pushes frequent updates.
