HERE’S A SOLUTION IF YOUR CHAT IS BEING RAIDED

HERE’S THE SOLUTION:

This guide applies to co-owners & main owners:
1. Type /p into the chat and press enter.
This will make it so that every unregistered user who enters the chat will have to complete a captcha to sign in.
2. Type /kap into the chat and press enter. (NB: this will only work if you have kickall power)
This will kick all unregistered guests from all pools.
3. Click edit your chat, extra features and enable live mode, turn it off and then type /p as soon as you reconnect. (Optional, only use if you don’t have kickall)
Turning on live mode will kick every user out of the chat. Turning it off will do the same again, and finally typing /p will prevent unregistered users from signing in.
Currently there are no raids with registered users, but if that ever happens you can substitute /p for /pm which will only allow members to enter and substitute /kap for /karp which will kick all registered and unregistered guests from all pools.
Lastly, if you have a bot, ensure that it is not automatically making unregistered member. If the raid bots are member, it will render all of these protection options useless.
If /p doesn’t work, use /pr instead. However at this time /p works just fine preventing raids.
NB: By default, kickall and protect are owner only. This can be changed using gcontrol.

DOES IT MAKE SENSE TO BAN THE IDS IN THE RAID?

The users responsible for these raids have a large amount of IDs, and even if they ran out of usable IDs it would not be difficult to replace them with new IDs.
Banning is ineffective as a method against the bots, and there will not be any significant difference if you ban these IDs.

MAKING THIS ALL AUTOMATIC

Because protect and kickall have to be used manually, if your chat becomes a target and staff aren’t online, your chat could be raided for a while before it is stopped.
This is why we suggest using a bot service that has raid protection:
ARCbots has this in the form of the !raidprotection command which all activate an account protection of your choice when a raid is detected.
FEXbots has the !kickall command. This will not detect raids automatically. So it is still manual, however if your staff doesn’t have kickall power or you want to get rid of a raid quickly, this is a good option.
Keep in mind that if you are using an ARCBot, it may turn on raid protection even while there is no raid going on (i.e if a large influx of users sign in at once) so there are disadvantages of using this method.
